Hong Kong PhD Fellowship 2025 Open for Applications
HONG KONG – The Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong has announced the opening of the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) for the 2025/26 academic year. The fellowship aims to attract outstanding students worldwide to pursue their PhD studies in Hong Kong.
The HKPFS offers a highly competitive package, including an annual stipend of HK$337,200 (approximately US$43,230) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$13,500 (approximately US$1,730) per year for each awardee for a period of up to three years.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the HKPFS, candidates must:
- Have a bachelor’s degree with first-class honours or equivalent; or
- Have a master’s degree from a recognized university.
Application Process
Interested candidates must submit an initial application online through the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme Electronic System (HKPFSES) (https://cerg1.ugc.edu.hk/hkpfs/index.html) by 1 December 2024 at 12:00 noon Hong Kong time.
After obtaining an HKPFS Reference Number, applicants must then submit full applications to their chosen universities by the respective universities’ deadlines.
