The fully sponsored Govt of Brunei Darussalam Scholarships for undergraduate, diploma, and master’s programs are offered at the following institutions: Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), and Politeknik Brunei (PB).

• The Brunei Darussalam scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship or fellowship without prior approval from Foreign Affairs Ministry.
• Brunei Darussalam Permanent Residents are ineligible for scholarship.
• Citizens from ASEAN, Commonwealth, and OIC member countries, among others can apply for this program.
• ‘C’ grade in IGCSE English (as a second language) / Grade 6 in English at the GCE ‘O’ Level Exam/ a score of 6.0 in IELTS/ a score of at least 550 in TOEFL is also required for English-taught programs.
• Scholarship recipients cannot bring their family members during the scholarship period.
• Proficiency in English, Malay, or Arabic is required.
• Age limit: 18-25 years for Undergraduate and Diploma programs. Meanwhile, the age of applicants for Postgraduate Master’s programs must not be more than 35 years for as of July 31, 2024.
• Scholarship recipients must leave Brunei Darussalam immediately after completing their program.
• Recipients are not allowed to have paid employment or serve on the staff of any country’s mission in Brunei during the scholarship.

Duration of Brunei Scholarship for Foreign Students 2024

The Brunei Scholarship for overseas students for the academic year 2024-25 has varying durations, depending on the level and type of program you enroll in, like;

• Undergraduate Degree Programs: These are 8 semesters long, which equals 4 years of full study.

• Diploma Programs: typically, last for 3 years.
• Master’s Degree Programs: the duration can be either 12 or 24 months, based on the specific program structure.
