Germany DAAD-Graduate Scholarship (GSSP) 2025 Program
Bremen, Germany – The Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS) is pleased to announce the opening of its DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Program (GSSP) for 2025. Focusing on the theme of “Contentious Politics in the Digital Age” (CoPoDi), this program offers a unique opportunity for international doctoral candidates to pursue their research in a stimulating and interdisciplinary environment.
Funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the GSSP provides scholarships for up to four years of PhD studies at BIGSSS. The program will commence in September 2025 and delve into the fascinating interplay between digital technologies and political activism, social movements, and socio-political conflict. With a particular emphasis on computational methods and regions like the Global South, CoPoDi offers a cutting-edge research experience.
BIGSSS, a collaboration between the University of Bremen and Constructor University, fosters a vibrant academic community. Doctoral candidates benefit from a rich interdisciplinary environment, collaborating with scholars from sociology, political science, psychology, economics, communication, and media studies.
The DAAD scholarship provides a generous monthly stipend of €1,300, travel allowances for research abroad, comprehensive health insurance, and potential family allowances. Additionally, recipients have access to German language courses, further enriching their experience in Germany.
Applications for the GSSP are open here (https://www.bigsss-bremen.de/academic-program/daad-graduate-school-scholarship-program/application-admission) until November 25th, 2024.
